OpportunityDb will host OZ Pitch Day Fall 2022 on Wednesday, November 9th, beginning at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. Silicon Valley OZ fund manager Urban Catalyst is the Title Partner for this event. This will be OpportunityDb’s seventh OZ Pitch Day event, and the final one of 2022.

OZ Pitch Day is a one-day online event that matches investors who have capital gains with Qualified Opportunity Funds that are raising equity. This event will showcase a dozen or more Qualified Opportunity Funds open to investors, including Title Partner Urban Catalyst, Diamond Partners Caliber and Pinnacle Partners, and many more.

In addition to the showcase of funds, the OZ Pitch Day will feature several educational segments. The event will kick off at 10:00 AM ET with an “OZ 101 For High Net Worth Investors” session hosted by OpportunityDb founder Jimmy Atkinson, followed by a keynote address on the current state of Opportunity Zone investing by Opportunity Funds Association founder Shay Hawkins.

Atkinson will also moderate three additional educational sessions throughout the course of the day.

The morning panel beginning at 11:35 AM ET, “How To Perform Due Diligence On OZ Funds,” will feature Gordon Goldie (Plante Moran) and Kirk Walton as panelists. This panel will focus on why Opportunity Zone investing is so powerful for investors, what to look for in any OZ fund, how to compare different fee structures, and the most common types of OZ investments and fund structures.

The early afternoon panel beginning at 2:15 PM ET, “Opportunity Zone Investing Trends,” will feature Paul Saint-Pierre (PSP Advisors) and John Sciarretti (Novogradac) as panelists. Data from Novogradac’s recent survey of Qualified Opportunity Funds will be presented, with discussion centering around recent trends, and how this year’s equity markets downturn, inflation, and rising interest rates may impact the OZ marketplace.

The late afternoon panel beginning at 3:30 PM ET, “The New Congress & Opportunity Zones,” will feature Alex Bhathal (Revitate) and Brett Siglin (Jennings Strouss Law) as panelists, to discuss how the outcome of the midterm elections (taking place one day before the event) may impact OZ policy in 2023 and beyond.

OZ Pros co-founder Ashley Tison will be the featured guest during the “Ask The OZ Expert” session at 1:00 PM ET. Tison will field live questions about Opportunity Zone investing from the OZ Pitch Day audience.
